Introduction to Chemistry
The first unit in Chemistry will be the things that make chemistry possible. We will start with Lab Safety. We will cover what a lab report is. We will talk about what you need to do in lab to make sure that you can write those reports. Then we will move into studying units.
My goal is to get you moving and to show that science is not only about sitting and listening, but also thinking and examining. With that said you are also expected to take responsibility in my classroom. Deadlines will be clearly stated and it is your job to get things in on time.

The Dumb Ways to Die project will have your group of students making a goofy/ entertaining way to show the safety needed in the Chemistry lab. Please make sure to reference the Rules of the Lab, which is above. There will be some class time to work on this, but not all of the time needed. Your group will present your product on the 9th of September. I will begin taking them the 3rd and will not except them after the 8th as I will not have time to approve them before they are shown on the 9th.
Examples of Lab reports
Below are two examples of journal submissions. Their format is similar to what you will be expected to write in lab. Please choose one of the two sample below. Read through the information, don't worry about understanding the content. I want you to focus on how it is written and how the information is displayed.
All labs will be turned in to turnitin.com. On the chemistry page. You need to log back in to get your comments so that you know what you missed and what you did well.
